Applications
Flare Fittings can be used with Copper, Brass, Aluminum and Welded Steel tubing which can be flared. These fittings are primarily used in fuel equipment, plumbing, gases, refrigeration and vacuum lines.
Advantages of Sterling
Flare Fittings made by Sterling are made such that they resist mechanical pullout. They are designed such that they can be assembled and disassembled repeatedly. We use CA 360, CA345 or CA 377 Brass for manufacturing.
Temperature range
-65°F to 250°F at maximum operating pressures.
Vibration
Short Nuts are to be used when vibration is minimal. The long nuts are available for higher vibration applications.
How to Assemble
- Cut a smooth, square end on the tubing
- Slide nut onto tube – threads facing the end
- Use a Flaring tool to flare the end of the tube
- Thread the nut to the body until its tight, and then 1/6th turn
